Instead of trying to get a reservation on the 14th at a restaurant packed with couples, why not plan a fun trip to a local winery on Saturday or Sunday with your girlfriends? If weather permits, starting the day with a walk on a scenic trail and packing a picnic style lunch could also be fun. Scary Movie Night...yes, you read that right!

Why not do something radically different from what everyone else does for Valentine’s Day and host a scary movie night? These movies are completely unromantic and off the traditional theme, which makes them perfect. We recommend horror movies featuring a strong female lead such as Silence of the Lambs, Alien, The Craft, or It Follows. We recommend pairing your horror movies with pizza and your favorite red wine. You’ll be surprised by how awesome the night ends up being!

Treat Yourself to a Day at the Spa

Who doesn’t love an indulgent day at the spa? Practice some radical self love and book yourself a massage, mani, pedi, facial, whatever your heart desires! Since Valentine’s Day is all about love, spend the day loving yourself. It makes perfect sense! After all, you have no one to please but your own self, so might as well go all out!

Ultimately, we think Valentine’s Day is all about celebrating love in its various forms - love for yourself, love for your fur babies, and love for your family and friends! Romantic love is just one kind of love, and while we are big fans of it, we know we can survive without it. After all, girls run the world!
